At Garanti BBVA International, we are looking for a Payment Services Specialist to join our team on a temporary 7-month contract to cover maternity leave.
In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring the smooth execution of daily payment operations while contributing to the quality and efficiency of our payment services. You will work closely with different departments, correspondent banks, and international stakeholders to process and monitor payment transactions accurately and within strict deadlines.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to further develop your expertise in payment operations, SWIFT messaging, reconciliations, and banking processes while becoming part of a dynamic and collaborative international environment.
Your role:
As a Payment Services Specialist, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of incoming and outgoing payment transactions for various banking products and departments. You will contribute to operational excellence by ensuring high-quality transaction handling, supporting reconciliations, solving operational issues, and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Process daily incoming and outgoing payment transactions accurately and within cut-off times.
Support the team in prioritizing urgent and high-value transactions.
Monitor payment flows and ensure timely execution of payment instructions.
Assist in resolving operational and payment-related issues.
Communicate effectively with internal departments regarding payment processing activities.
Maintain contact with correspondent banks regarding payment transactions and inquiries when necessary.
Support reconciliation activities related to Nostro accounts and payment transactions.
Ensure that all bookings and operational activities are performed accurately and in line with procedures.
Contribute to identifying operational improvements and suggest system or process enhancements to improve workflow quality and efficiency.
Work proactively and collaboratively within the team to maintain operational continuity and service quality.
Ensure compliance with internal procedures, operational standards, and banking regulations.
Contribute to a positive and cooperative working environment.

Skills & Qualifications
Experience with banking payment products, SWIFT, and domestic payment systems is considered an asset.
Strong operational and analytical mindset.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure and within strict deadlines.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to prioritize workload and manage urgent transactions effectively.

Ability to independently resolve operational issues.
Excellent command of English (written and verbal).
Education
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree.
Preferably in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
