We are looking for a Mortgage Business Expert with in-depth knowledge of the Dutch mortgage market, strong analytical skills, and a strategic mindset. The ideal candidate will lead and support initiatives focused on optimizing mortgage processes, improving portfolio performance, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards. This role plays a key part in aligning mortgage operations with the bank’s broader business goals.

Your role:

As a Mortgage Business Expert, you will be responsible for driving the performance and transformation of mortgage-related activities across the organization. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including operations, IT, risk, compliance, and finance—to ensure that mortgage processes are streamlined, compliant, and profitable.

Duties & responsibilties:

• Lead the mortgage business initiative with focus on the Dutch market.
• Monitor mortgage loan operations to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
• Conduct thorough profit analysis of long-term retail loan portfolios to identify areas for improvement.
• Oversee process coordination, reporting, and data integration across systems to improve end-to-end efficiency
• Act as a key liaison with stakeholders, providing regular updates and proactively addressing questions or concerns
• Perform portfolio analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
• Conduct market and financial analysis specific to the mortgage and housing sector to inform decision-making
• Provide guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure compliance and support long-term strategic planning

Skills/Qualifications:

• Experience in conducting profit analysis for long-term retail loan portfolios
• Knowledge of investment products and a sound understanding of derivative products.
• Solid understanding of retail credit risk management.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance in mortgage lending and retail finance.
• Strong data-driven approach to decision-making, combined with creative problem-solving skills.

Education: 

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in  Business Administration, Finance, Econolics, Banking, or a related field.
  Preferred: 
• Valid Wft Basis and Wft Hypothecair Krediet certifications (required)
• Wft Vermogen certification (preferred or willingness to obtain)
• Additional certifications such as SEH (Stichting Erkend Hypotheekadviseur), Erkend Hypothecair Planner (EHP), or FFP (Federatie Financieel Planners) are considered strong assets
  Commitment to Permanent Education (PE) to stay current with regulatory and market developments
