We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Architect (EA) to join our team and take ownership of our architectural processes and governance. As an EA, you will be instrumental in aligning business strategy with technology architecture, ensuring the integration of IT solutions to achieve organizational goals. Your strategic thinking and technical expertise will drive innovative solutions, guide cross-functional teams, and maintain governance to ensure business continuity and resilience.
Your role
As the Enterprise Architect, you will play a key role in aligning business strategy with technology architecture. You will own the GBI architecture process and governance, ensuring scalable and resilient solutions. Responsibilities include guiding engineering teams, maintaining architecture diagrams, supporting disaster recovery planning, mitigating technical debt, and driving compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate with stakeholders, improve governance processes, and communicate the value of architectural initiatives
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Alignment and Governance:
• Defines and enforces enterprise architecture principles, standards, and guidelines across all projects
and initiatives
• Defines and maintains an architecture mandate within GBI under the COO domain and Managing
Board
• Collaborates with stakeholders to align architecture objectives with business goals
• Supports business case assessments from an architectural standpoint
Solution Design and Implementation:
• Coordinates design and delivery of scalable, secure, and cost-effective technical solutions for projects by vendors and project teams
• Maintains a detailed understanding of infrastructure to optimize performance and resolve issues
• Initiates and facilitates Proof of Concepts (PoC) with the engineering teams to validate new solutions
and technologies
Governance Business Continuity Management (BCM):
- Establishes and manages business continuity governance frameworks and processes
- Ensures continuity and resilience are baked into systems and processes
- Designs resilient infrastructure, applications, and processes by ensuring these align with BCM
- Implements and runs automated tooling to capture the relationships between business processes, assets and end-to-end overview over the infrastructure and applications
Observability and Monitoring:
- Oversees implementation and management of observability tools and monitoring systems
- Define metrics to measure system health and performance, ensuring reliability and early detection of anomalies
- Supports definition of a process to enable engineering to act on observability events and warnings
Technical Debt Management:
- Identify, measure, and monitor technical debt across systems and projects
- Recommends strategies and action plans to resolve technical debt in alignment with business and IT long-term goals
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Single point of contact for enterprise architecture acting as EA trusted advisor in the organization
- Support operational and project teams ensuring architectural integrity
- Facilitate cross-team collaboration to ensure successful delivery of solutions
- Joins internal and external architecture board meetings of Engineering and Data and with vendors
- Understands, adheres and promotes to the Corporate Values

Skills/Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in enterprise architecture or related roles preferably in financial sector or
banks more specifically
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, TOGAF, ArchiMate, ITIL) are a plus
Experience:
Governance and Monitoring:
- Deep understanding of IT and architecture governance, processes, compliance, and risk management principles
- Ability to define, measure, and monitor architecture principles and standards effectively
Architecture and Design:
- Ability to design and validate solutions with project teams and vendors
- Manage end-to-end implementations from architectural standpoint, solving complex business
requirements and supporting project teams to stay within budget - Expertise in developing enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF)
- Proven ability to design solutions that balance scalability, security, and performance
- Knowledge on architecture frameworks and Unified Modeling Language (UML)
Technical Expertise:
- Strong hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-grade solutions
- Proficiency in infrastructure technologies, cloud platforms, and observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace)
- Hands on technical expertise with managing and running Microsoft, Linux and DB products
- Strong knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity planning
Change Management:
• Ability to proactively support and implement efficient change management by correctly assessing the business outcome versus change impact in respect with applications related changes and incidents
Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:
- Capacity to analyse complex technical challenges and propose effective solutions
- Ability to identify root causes of technical debt and provide actionable insights to address them
Leadership and Communication:
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to influence and guide organizational decision-making
- Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills
Other:
- General knowledge of banking applications in different business areas (core banking, document management, payments systems, corporate / retail systems, compliance, treasury, finance etc.)
- Knowledge of software developments methods and Agile methodologies like Scrum
- Knowledge of Atlassian stack tools Jira and Confluence
- Strong communication skills and an international outlook
- Effective listening and thorough analysis capacity
- Deals effectively with pressure, remains calm, objective and in control in stressful situations
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
