Your role
The ALM Professional takes part in the management of market risks to which the Bank is exposed, with a special focus on IRRBB. With a forward looking approach and a holistic understanding of the balance sheet interest rate sensitivity, he/she assists in identifying these risks, substantiating the market strategy to manage them, and in ensuring the execution of these strategies with operational excellence. Within the given risk appetite and in line with the strategies approved by the ALCO, he/she helps manage the ALCO portfolio, executes derivative transactions and takes part in managing hedge accounting structures. Also, he/she assists in carrying out the daily operations and transactions to ensure uninterrupted and smooth continuation of the ALM function.

Key Responsibilities
- To have in-depth understanding of various market risks to which the bank is exposed with a special focus on IRRBB, and of the financial products used to manage and mitigate these risks.
- To monitor interest rate exposure of the Bank, as well as market developments in relevant jurisdictions and products, with a view to propose alternative strategies for management of these risks to the Director of ALM. Upon approval, executing necessary financial transactions in line with these strategies.
- To help manage the ALCO portfolio within the given risk appetite and in line with the strategies approved by the ALCO, in consultation with the Director of ALM.
- To design and execute the derivatives required for managing the interest rate risk exposure of the balance sheet in order to ensure sustainable NII generation.
- To monitor and oversee the hedge accounting structures to mitigate P/L volatility.
- To ensure adherence to regulatory ratios, internal and external metrics, and other delegated restrictions, constraints and targets.
- To assist in the preparation of ALCO material.
- To assist in executing the daily transactions for smooth running of the ALM function.
- To maintain the internal framework of policies and procedures, especially the Investment Policy and the IRRBB Management Policy.
- To be alert at all times to detect any fraudulent, illegal, unauthorized or unusual activities of clients, Bank’s own personnel or other counterparts and duly reporting them.
As an ALM Professional, what do you need.
- Proven knowledge of Treasury products and activitites.
- Experience in interest rate products, bonds and derivatives.
- Understanding of hedge accounting, portfolio hedging and relevant accounting standards (IAS39, IFRS9)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Turkish is a plus.
- University graduate, preferably with a master's degree at least one focusing on either Finance, Economics or Engineering.
- 5+ years of work experience in a role relating to interest rate risk management, preferably in ALM/Finance area of a bank or in cash or derivatives rates trading.
- Structured and Logical thinking.
